As a travel concierge, it is our personal mission to encourage you to never visit the same place twice. There’s only one country where we break our own rule, and that’s for Italy. If we had it our way, we would go every summer, and perhaps the reason why we’re willing to look away when it comes to a repeat visit is the fact that no two trips will ever be the same. A slow, sleepy, farmland stay in your private villa in ancient Puglia will be a contrasting experience to a day exploring Rome, where you will break your step count record ticking off all the heritage sights and wandering through the chaotic but thrilling markets that line the cobblestone streets.
If you’re looking for a cosmopolitan visit, we’ll set you up in one of the most luxurious hotels Milan has to offer, but don’t blame us if you have a hard time resisting setting up charge accounts at the boutiques lining up the famous Via Monte Napoleone – where you just might be rubbing elbows with Miuccia during an espresso break at Marchesi 1824. Once you’ve ingested enough city bustle, relax world’s away (but in fact, only a 40 min. train ride) at Lake Como. You will need to let your eyes adjust before you can believe the most magnificent lake scene you’ll have to see to believe.
What's In Your Italy Trunk
Missoni cover ups that will double as dresses for old town exploring. On that note, invest in nylon Prada shorts since you’ll never be far from water. For night, pack a Dolce & Gabbana corset top you’ll pair with rigid A.Golde jeans that will hold out through all the day excursions - we won’t judge if you’ll need to open the top button after all the al dente, we’ve certainly been there.
What to bring home:
Sandals from Capri, murano glass from Venice, vietri ceramics, leather goods in Florence.
Ship home wine, balsamic, olive oil…
